Deutsche Bahn saves big with GOdata
Deutsche Bahn uses GOdata to monitor ice build up on their overhead train power lines. By monitoring air temperature and humidity, GOdata calculates the dew point and sends a message to Deutsche Bahn to turn on or off the overhead power line heaters. Due to the accuracy and real time communication, GOdata achieved approximately €1,000,000 savings in damage avoidance and substantial energy savings due to drastically shortened heating times in 2014. Deutsche Bahn is currently implementing GOdata on a larger scale and in a variety of applications, such as water meter monitoring, overhead cable tension measurement, etc.
